So, right after you post you'll get a rash of pageviews - and for me that means between 2 and 19 at the moment, which'll clock up over maybe an hour and then *boom* nothing. As I understand it, that's because as a new article you get preferential treatment in search engines and as your post gets older so the novelty fades and you're quickly forgotten about.
Not sure exactly what to do about that yet. Not really ready to start properly promoting this or my other blog - so if you're reading this, you're really reading a text version of my inner monologue rather than something that's actually meant to be read by other people, but, meh.
However, if you are reading this and understand how this works then please feel free to leave a comment :)
So, the only strategy I've got in mind right at this moment is frequent posts, which has been my plan all along. Who, afterall, wants to wade through 4000 words of diatribe? Basically then, business as usual for the moment.
Going to try an experiment though - not going to put this one on google+ and see what happens.
A blog about blogging, basically because I've got to much to say and don't want to pollute the feed on my other blog

Blogging about blogging
So, I started blogging just over a week ago (that blog is
here; wingingfatherhood.blogspot.com) and found that I keep wanting to talk
about blogging. This stuff is really
new to me and honestly, I haven’t the faintest idea how it all works. People
seem to be able to find my other blog (it’s not all just me looking at it) but
I couldn’t begin to tell you how. No one I know blogs, so there’s no one I can
ask (other than google, obviously) and it’s all a bit frustrating, but I’m sure
I’ll get there, but thought it would be nice to document the experience and
chart my progress up the learning curve (which at the moment appears unsalable).
If I uncover any useful hints or tips I’ll post them on
here, including links to anywhere that help.
And honestly, don’t care if a single sole reads this as, at
the very least, it’ll be a handy repository of reference information to look
back over… mixed in with the odd rant (but I’ll make sure to mark those posts) :)
